Lowel B. Anthony is the Director of Gastrointestinal and Neuroendocrine Oncology and Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

Dr Anthony earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where he also completed a residency in Internal Medicine and fellowships in Medical Oncology and Clinical Pharmacology. Dr Anthony is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

A fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr Anthony is a member of many professional societies and organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research, American Society of Hematology and Southwest Oncology Group. He is an elected member of the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation.

An invited lecturer who has participated in numerous national and international scientific forums, Dr Anthony serves on the editorial board of The Journal of Peptide Therapy: Index and Reviews and is a reviewer for such journals as The Journal of Nuclear Medicine, The New England Journal of Medicine, The Journal of Clinical Oncology and Cancer. Dr Anthony is also the author or co-author of numerous book chapters, journal articles, abstracts and audiovisual media. His work has been published in such professional journals as The Journal of Clinical Oncology, The Italian Journal of Gastroenterology, The Journal of Pathology, Clinical Research, The Annals of Internal Medicine and The Quarterly Journal of Nuclear Medicine.
