The diagnosis and management of hepatitis C Dr Brown is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Pediatrics at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City and the Chief of Clinical Hepatology and Medical Director for the Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation at New York-Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr Brown received his bachelor's degree from Harvard College and his medical degree from New York University. He completed his internship and residency at Harvard's Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and received his master's degree in Public Health from the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. Dr Brown previously held academic appointments at the University of California, San Francisco and at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. His clinical research focuses on viral hepatitis and liver transplantation, and he has published extensively in these areas. He is on the editorial board of Liver Transplantation and is a special section editor for Hepatology. Dr Brown serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the American Liver Foundation.
