Alan F. Cutler MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He teaches at several hospitals in the suburban Detroit area and is a partner in Digestive Health Associates, a private practice in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Dr Cutler received his medical degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in Minneapolis and his gastroenterology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Dr Cutler is a member of the editorial board of the American Journal of Gastroenterology and Gastroenterology & Endoscopy News. He is a reviewer for American Journal of Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Journal of the American Medical Association. Dr Cutler authored the chapter, "Helicobacter pylori: Diagnostic Testing and Treatment," in the Textbook of Clinical Practice of Gastroenterology, published by Current Medicine in 1998. He has published multiple peer-reviewed articles on various aspects of Helicobacter pylori and gave commentary on its treatment at the International Update Conference on Helicobacter pylori in February 1997.

Dr Cutler is President of the Michigan Gastroenterology Society and Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of Michigan.
