Professor Robert Giuli MD, FACS, FCCP

   

 

Robert Giuli is currently Professor of Surgery at the University of Paris. His professional interest and qualification in the domain of digestive and thoracic surgery led him to progressively devote his practice to the upper digestive tract, and especially to surgery of the esophagus. In this realm, he has published over 250 scientific articles, produced videos of surgical technique and contributed to 25 specialized books. Prof. Giuli is the founder of OESO (Organisation Mondiale d'Etudes Spécialisées sur les Maladies de l'Oesophage/World Organization for Specialized Studies on Diseases of the Esophagus), of which he is Scientific Director.

Prof. Giuli is the originator of the unique question-and-answer format of the World Polydisciplinary Congresses of OESO, which he has organized and directed every three years since 1984. He is the first editor of the six OESO books, which together make up an evolutionary encyclopaedia and, every three years, comprehensively cover a given area of oesophagology. Professor Giuli is a member of France's National Academy of Surgery and 17 other scientific organizations. He has held a number of distinguished lectureships and visiting professional positions around the world.
