Are these physiologic effects of clinical relevance? Results of this study reported by Jokubaitis and colleagues and based on a trial in 2500 patients with erosive esophagitis suggest that indeed they are. As you can see within one to two days of therapy, between 60% and 80% of patients had complete relief of symptoms by day and by night.
