Spring Congress spotlighting upper GI cancer The OMED Executive Committee, under the chairmanship of its President, Professor Hirohumi Niwa, has unveiled planning for the 1st OMED Spring Meeting. This will be held in conjunction with the 5th International Gastric Cancer Congress, May 4 and 5, 2003, in Rome, Italy. OMED meeting coordinators are Massimo Crespi MD and Alberto Montori, MD. Topics and speakers at the ROME event will highlight the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures applicable to upper GI cancer and precancerous lesions. The OMED leadership resolved to join forces with the IGCC for this occasion, seeing "a unique opportunity to access a large audience of worldwide top level experts", says Dr. Montori. "'The scientific programme promises to be excellent. And Rome in spring is gorgeous!"
